Rural Development Group welcomes this weekend in the Sierra de Aracena y Picos de Aroche the First Course of Ornithology Sierra Morena.

This territory has many resources in terms of ornithology, therefore, from the Association for the Integral Development of the Territory of Sierra Morena has devised a way to connect them together so they can bid on the market. After identification, localization and quantification will develop the connection own ornithological resources and tourism enterprises.

After studying in depth the needs and preferences of ornithological tourism, you will be making numerous appearances among those found, publishing guides, adaptation and equipping of trails, Issue promotional material and training, among others.

These days, aimed at companies active tourism, technical staff of the four Rural Development Groups participating in the Partnership for Integrated Tourism Development in Sierra Morena and the SEO (Spanish Ornithological Society), aim to provide a training, outreach, awareness and value of ornithological heritage of the Sierra de Aracena y Picos de Aroche, and by extension to all Sierra Morena.

To this end, the event will start on Friday with lectures, which will focus on birds, their flight, migration and an introduction to scientific ringing of birds continue on Saturday with a practice day birding trails and through the dam of Aracena. The completion of this course will be held on Sunday and will conclude with lectures to learn about the taxonomy and major groups of birds.

The GDR Sierra de Aracena y Picos de Aroche has among its many objectives to promote awareness of the Sierra.

Mining in the Sierra de Aracena y Picos de Aroche

mina concepcinThe exploitation of mineral resources in this region dates back to prehistory, Chalcolithic and Bronze Age. Then people like the Turdetani, the Romans, and tartessos continued and extracting the ore from the earth.


But not until the late nineteenth century when foreign capital will come to profitable underground mountain and begin the massive exploitation of mineral resources as we understand it today. El pasado día 5 de Noviembre salió publicada en el Boja la Resolución de 16 de Octubre de 2.009, de la Dirección General de Desarrollo Sostenible del Medio Rural, (Se puede ver aquí),  por la que se hace pública la aprobación de la Instrucción en la que se establecen las directrices, condiciones, y criterios de asignación de las subvenciones a las personas promotoras, así como el procedimiento al que deben atenerse los Grupos de Desarrollo Rural para la ejecución de las medidas 411, 412, y 413 del Programa de Desarrollo Rural de Andalucía 2.007-2.013, contempladas en el Plan de Actuación Global.
